Hardware Connections and Data Flow
For Cinergy VideoAssist and Timecode Capture

The hardware connections shown in the following image include two separate data inputs:

    1) Video for Cinergy VideoAssist (Left Path)
  
     The DV-Bridge converts analog video to digital video because
        the Sony VAIO Laptop's video input is DV,  while most camera
        video taps and video assist systems are analog.

    2) SMPTE Timecode (Right Path)
        The timecode converter converts an analog timecode signal
        to digital data readable by a computer's serial port.

Cinergy can be used with both of these inputs, or just one of them, or neither.
