| Using
the Cinergy Update Wizard |

The Cinergy Update Wizard (described below) is the process by
which Cinergy enhancements and upgrades are delivered to you via
the Internet. You should periodically run the Update Wizard to
ensure you have the latest version of the software.
The Cinergy software must already be installed in order to use
these instructions.
Upgrading from an
older version of Cinergy?
These instructions are intended for people who have already
installed any parts of Cinergy 5, whether it was the trial
version or a retail version. If you are running an
older version of Cinergy purchased prior to April 1, 2004, you
can submit payment for an upgrade to Cinergy 5 using the upgrade
procedure in this link.
Step-by-step

Launch the Cinergy Update Wizard
Do this by clicking on
Start > Programs > Cinergy > Update Wizard.

Select the
appropriate connection type that you use to connect to the
Internet
This will begin guiding you through the update and upgrade
process. Select your connection type and click the NEXT
button. If you are a DSL customer, or you use AOL as your
ISP, you may need to try each connection types to determine
which one works for your location.

Select
Cinergy MPPS 5.0 from the list to get the latest revisions and
enhancements.
Depending on which Cinergy products were previously
installed on your computer, you will see a list of items
available for update. These updates include enhancements,
bug fixes, and any new features released to the public by our
development team. An upgrade fee for Cinergy 5 only
applies to you if you purchased Cinergy prior to April 1,
2004.
Select Cinergy 5 from the list,
then click NEXT. (If
an upgrade fee applies to you, you will be presented with
additional screens after this one where you can submit your
payment information. Just follow the on-screen
instructions to submit your payment.)

Start
the update process
This will continue guiding you through the remainder of the
update process. Click OK to begin the update and follow
the on-screen instructions.

Reboot,
if requested to do so.
If the update asked you to reboot your computer, please do
so before proceeding with the next steps. If you select to
automatically reboot your computer but no reboot occurs, restart
your computer manually by clicking on Start > Shut Down >
Restart |
