(Great Falls, VA - September 15, 1999) – Mindstar Productions, makers of the highly regarded Cinergy 2000 Motion Picture Production System (Cinergy MPPS), in conjunction with Avid Technology, Inc. [NASDAQ: AVID], has jointly developed the Cinergy Extended Log Exchange (CELE) data format. The CELE information protocol enhances the integration between Mindstar's Cinergy MPPS and the Avid® Media Composer® family of products.

Productions utilizing Mindstar's On-Set module are currently able to collect information such as script marks, director’s notes, and timecode, which can be exported directly into the Avid Media Composer system. "Mindstar's integration with Avid Technology will bring new and unrivaled products and services to film professionals worldwide," according to Mindstar's Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Terry Gudaitis. "The improved communication between the products will eliminate the need for Avid users to manually mark scripts in Avid’s script interface. The combination of both products provides an all encompassing information management solution for filmmakers that eliminates cumbersome paper notes."

Cinergy’s ability to collect and disseminate On-Set information in conjunction with Avid’s Academy Award™ winning video editing technology provides an effective method of managing digital footage. Producers and editors are now able to harness the combined power from these proven tools for filmmakers.

The Cinergy MPPS and CELE interface will be demonstrated at ShowBiz Expo East NY '99 at the Javits Convention Center September 16th - September 18th (Booth #526).
